- Holy Apostles, Church of the
There are two famous churches with this name. The first was built by Justinian I in Constantinople (qq.v.). It was located on the site of an earlier fourth-century basilican (q.v.) church of the same name that housed the mortal remains of Constantine I (q.v.), considered a kind of 13th apostle. The second famous church with this name is the 14th-century Church of the Holy Apostles in Thessalonike (qq.v.).
